So Much To Be THANKFUL For!!
As Thanksgiving approaches i sit and think of all that i have been given this year. Yes this year has been a hard, long year, but i must say it was and is well worth it. At the beginning of the year Jordan lost his job and we lost our house and had to move in with his mom. Then a month later I found out I was pregnant. I was so over joyed but at the same time i thought we are in no position to have a baby right now!! But never once did anything but having her cross my mind!! Then we had a tough pregnancy. Bleeding, clotting disorders, spina bifida scare and then her coming early. We also had a wedding planned but due to pregnancy issues it got cancelled, and we went to the court house after Allie came. The 100 days we spent in the NICU was the greatest and worsts days of my life. I am so glad it turned out the way it did, and that we didn't have to go down the road that alot of parents have to. So this year I have a bunch of stuff to be thankful for! I have my amazing daughter, who is my world and i don't know what i would of done if i lost her. I have my wonderful husband, I know he couldn't be there as much as we both wanted him to, but if it wasn't for him alot of the times i would of lost it! I am thankful for my awesome family, Especially my mother. We have a few bumpy years but we are doing good now. And when Allie was first born she was there every step. She has help all 3 of us so much that i don't know where we would be without her. I have so Great friends that also helped me alot and probably got most of my venting then anything, but they didn't mind. So this year I am so thankful for everything. We have been so blessed and I thank GOD everyday for all I have. I know life has it's bumps, but there are things along the way that make those bumps just distant nightmares. So be thankful for every step in life, because you never know where the next one take you. I just pray next year is half as good this one has been, but i am predicting a better year!! :)

Going "SHOPPING"...AKA HOME!!!!
I never thought this post was coming so soon! Allie got her feeding tube taken out this morning. She also got her oxygen taken off. Then the doctor came in for rounds and told me as long as Allie continues to gain weight and does good without oxygen, she will be going home next week!!! WHOOOO freaking HOOOOO!!!! I am so on cloud nine, i am trying not to get too excited, but thats just me i cant contain my emotions!!! I like to stay positive so that it happens!! ALL the glory goes to GOD for this wonderful miracle!!! I can't even begin to discribe the feeling of this. I am such a proud mamma, and i have the best daughter in the world. She is such a fighter, and has been since day one. I think she gets that from me!!

we are soo blessed
I sat down the other day and started looking at all the pictures of Allie. From time she was born until now. Can I just say...WOW. I have been so caught up in the moment of being a new mommy and just so happy that she was alive, that i didn't realize how bad she looked. I started crying when i looked at them all. Now i have seen the before, but on the camera. This time i sat down and viewed them from the computer, on a big screen. I never realized how black and blue she looked. Or how in some pictures ( excuse me i am just speaking what i saw) how she looked like she was dead, or heading there. I am sooo glad we have come this far. No matter how much i complain bout this NICU life. It's so much better than her not being here at all. I would do it over if i had to just to have my daughter. And now that we are approaching going home, it's all a distant memory...or sometimes a nightmare...and most of a the BIGGEST blessing i have ever been given!! I can never say the many thank you's to GOD before my life is over. So instead i will show him by being the best mother i can be. And i can so not wait to get home and do it on my own. All these wires will be gone, no nurses. No offence to you guys. Y'all are the best, and sometimes i wouldn't make it without you!!!! You have been my rock at times, but i will take with me what you have taught me!! No worries :) Oh thinking bout the day makes me want to squeal..lol i cant wait to snuggle her up when i want and walk around with her and give her an actual bath. I just CAN'T freaking wait!

and I thought...OH NO
So since Allie has been taking bottles she has done wonderful. They have upped the amount giving by bottle. They have upped how many times she was getting botles. She was her speech thearipstest star student. Then on the 4th of october i ran out of breast milk. The medicine they give to bring in your milk made me go crazy so i aint taking that again. They have an herbal thing i can take called finugreek(maybe spelled wrong), but i was told that she couldn't have milk that had it in it until she was term. So back to my story, she got put on full formula the 4th and ever since then the umpth she has on takeing bottles has went down. It all started big time yesterday, when the best nurse at feeding a baby couldn't get her to eat. She hardly took any for me lastnight and this morning she took only half. So i thought OH NO. here we go again. I thought they are going to have to stop bottles because she is not tollerating them. Robin (speech) came in this afternoon to work with her and to see what is going on. She took only 8cc's out of 30cc's!!! UGGHHH is what i wanted to say. Then we all got to brain storming! And since she has been on full formula she has went down hill on the bottles. So speech, the nurse and I came to the conclusion. She is full of poop, she hasn't pooped in 21/2 days, and that she is probably full from it all so she dont want to eat. We also talked bout not likeing the formula. So we are trying a few things and ohh how I pray that they work. 1 we are stopping her iron ( causes constipation) and giving her liquid gliserin( to make her poop, they said clean her out) and then try tomorrow. If she is better tomorrow then thats all they are going to do. But if that does not work then they are going to change her formula and also they said i can take the herb to bring my milk back in and they will just add it to the formula like they was doing!! WHOOO I feel like we dogdged a big bullet there. I was so afraid that they was going to stop her bottles and we were going to be back to square one. I am so glad that it's because she is full of poop!!!

it's getting harder to hold my head up!
I sit here everyday and listen to how good allie is doing and i watch her and i am so proud. but then i stop and look around the NICU. Allie and one other baby is the oldest one here. the other baby has more problems than allie, but all of the other babies that where here at the same time and some after her are already gone home. I know our day is coming soo soon i can see it, but it's so hard to keep your head up at times. Today was an awesome day today. she now gets a bottle every other feed and she gets a whole ounce now!!! but she is also getting tired with her bottles. the nurse tonight wont help me try to feed her she just says "oh well she is too tired" and she is not she is trying hard. they also think her hemoglobin is low which is not the greatest news ever. so i sit here and think we have all these good things that are happening and have us so close to home. but then we have bad things. i am hearing them talk outside the room about a baby that is younger than allie fixing to go home. he is about to start carseat trials. and where i hear that i get more down. I try to look at the good and trust in GOD and know that he holds it all and when he is ready it will happen, but it's so hard to sit here and wait on something you want so bad. so i ask that all of our readers pray for us. pray that allie hurries up and becomes a big girl and go home. and pray for my strenghth and peace of mind bout this all. this is the most tiring thing i have EVER done in my whole life. and i know soon it will be a distant memory and i will be home with my miracle and happy, but for now its hard!

She also got put in a big girl bed!! a crib, well basanet!! I am so thankful and so happy! this is 3 big steps to going home. I just pray it countinues to go up heel! I just sit here and think back to where we started from and it's so hard to believe where we are compaired to where we came from! Just proof that she is one of GOD's many miracles! :)

The best book ever!!
I know i just put a post on here, but my mom bought allie the best book ever! it's called On the Night You Were Born. I love it, the first time i read it i cried, so i figured i would share it with everyone!!
On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered, "life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you....ever in the world.
So enchanted with you were the wind and the rain that they whispered the sound of your wonderful name. The sound of your name is a magical one. Let's say it out loud before we go on. It sailed through the farmland high on the breeze, over the ocean, and through the trees until everyone heard it and everyone knew of the one and only ever you. Not once had there been such eyes, such a nose, such silly, wiggly, wonderful toes. In fact i think i'll count to three so you can wiggle your toes for me. When the polar bears heard, they danced until dawn. From faraway places, the geese flew home. The moon stayed up until morning next day. And none of the lady bugs flew away. So whenever you dought just how special you are and you wonder who loves you, how much and how far, listen for geese honking high in the sky. they're singing a song to remember you by. Or notice the bears asleep at the zoo. It's becasue they've been dancing all night for you. Or drift off to sleep to the sound of the wind. Listen closely...it's whispering your name again. If the moon stays up until morning one day, or a ladybug lands and decides to stay, or a little bird sits at your window awhile, it's becasue they're all hoping to see you smile. For never in a story or rhyme not ever once upon a time has the world ever known a you, my friend, and it never will, not ever again. Heaven blew evey trumpet and played every horn on the wounderful, marvelous night you were born.
Now isn't that the best book you have ever read?? i thought it was!!

It' hard to feed a premiee
If you have never feed a preemie let me tell you it's rough. There is so much more to it than pick the baby up and throw the bottle in it's mouth. You have to hold them on their side, give cheek and chin support and count the sucks and breaths. and you have to pace them which means make sure they are breathing between the sucks and swallows. We have been giving allie bottles now for bout 2 weeks. Majority of the time the nurses or speech therapy feed her. The past few days i have tried and have not succseded. i could not get her to take it all the way in her time limit she is givin. I was starting to get frustrated and mad, that i could not feed my own baby. I felt like a failur or a bad mom. Tonight i tried again and I DID IT!!! WHOOO i am so excited. I feel like i can check off another thing i accoplished in my mommy book!!!! :) I love being ALLIE'S mom

Hummm, I wonder??
As of yesterday Allie is 4 weeks away from her due date. I am excited, but getting nervous. I know it's never a certain, but they tell you to expect to go home around your due date. That excites me even more, but then i get to thinking that's alot for Allie to do in 4 weeks. At times i think oh she can do it. Then there is other times i think wow 4 weeks is not enough time for her to do everything that is required. It's not that i don't have faith in her and GOD. It's that i have my hopes up so bad (even though i shouldn't) and i am so afraid that we will pass the due date and i will be crushed. I am okay if we have to pass it, but like i said i have my hopes so high, and i have been trying so hard not to get set on the due date thing. But when you want to go home so bad its hard not to look at the soonest possible discharge date! I don't want to pass the due date and just hit rock bottom emotionally because i am so wore out in every way possible. I miss my husband, and my friends. I miss freedom, i mean i am by no means tied down to this place, but i cant leave my baby girl without feeling guilty. i just miss home period and i am so over the NICU. Not Allie or the nurses, but the life and the heart ache and stress. So as part of me thinks we will leave on time and the other part says no. i am okay with whatever, it just made be hard to swallow.

I am just so proud!!!
I am just proud and amazed every time i look at allison. She is getting so big and "mature" at the same time! She is becoming more awake and alert every minute. They say premiees are usually 2 months behind in devolpment, and now i believe it. She use to sleep all day and do no interaction at all. Now she is alert and looks at me while i talk, she smiles, she looks around at her sarroundings. She is being such a girl being all into everyones buisness...lol I just sat today and looked at her in amazment, and cried becasue i am so happy. I LOVE being a mommy that all i have ever wanted to be. Now i am and get to spend every day watching her grow and learn and thats the best thing in the world. I love her more than words or actions could explain. I so can't wait to go shopping(home)!
Got to vent
I know i just posted something, but i read a friends blog and she was venting bout stuff that got me needing to. i love that i can get on here and get my emotions out. Her baby was born 15weeks early and the other day was her original due date, so she talked bout it. That in turn got me cry and thinking bout my feelings about mine. Allie is my only child now and forever. Most of you know about my heart condition, and allie was a scary thing to take a chance on anyways. The doctors told me in early janurary that if i wanted a baby now would be the time to try. They didnt not guarantee that everything heart wise would be ok, but they said it would be better to do it now than later. So we did and a month later we found out we was pregnant. I was so happy but then it hit me and i was worried on how things would go. Little did i know that when i told GOD i wanted a baby no matter what, that that is what i would get!! now i wish i could edit that a little. At 8 weeks i found out i had thrombophila, MTHFR, protine s, protine c deficiancy. i had to take blood thinner shots once a day and take exrta vitamins. then at 15 weeks we got the spina bifida scare. At 19 weeks we found out i had a chorio hemangioma. Which is a benine tumor that is full of blood vessels and steals boold from the baby. well then when we went to have her we found out she had IUGR(inner uterin groth restriction). So from day one i felt like maybe i needed to edit my prayer. Then my baby came 14 weeks early due to the chorio hemangioma and my placenta detaching. Why did i have to have a premiee, expecially when i only get one shot. I am and was so mad that i didn't get to enjoy a whole pregnancy, to have a baby shower while pregnant. didn't get to do "real" labor and birth. I am so jealous now of pregnant women that are enjoying it all. I am also jealous/ mad at people who get pregnant all the time and are not good moms. i am jealous that they get the chance and mad that they get it and dont apprecate it. I want to know why my family, baby, and i ahve to go through all of this. I wish i could turn back the hands of time and make it all go different. but i had someone tell me something today that helped alot. GOD just wanted to give me 14 extra weeks with allie. Don't get me wrong. I love GOD and am so thankful for ALL he has given me. The good or the bad, you have to take it all in stride. I am so greatful allie is doing great. it could be worse, they told us if we would not of taken her when they did she would of been dead by the next day. So i know its all part of GOD's big plan i just wish i understood what it was and why it was planned for my one and only baby to be taken early and struggle.
UGGGHHHHH!!!
I will say it once more: I feel like we are never going to move foward and out the door. I know what i am bout to tell you does not affect allie as of now, it's just a pain in the butt and i hate that we are going so good one minute and the next BAM!!! Allie has MRSA. She is not infected with it yet it's just on her skin. It scares me because i dont understand it completely(plan on asking doc when she comes by). I feel like my baby has fought enough why should she get something that can possiably make her worse?? Please pray for us, expecially allie's help and my sanity!! Thanks
Just a LIL' update
So allie now is a whopping 3 pounds 2 ounces!!! she is moving right along. I love it but then i am watching her grow in front of my eyes and its great but sad. Know Allie is my only baby (due to health) its sad to see her get big and know i will never get these moments back, but it's great to see her improve from where she started. I just wish she could be healthy and itsy bitsy forever :) The nurses told me last night she will most likely be in a crib by next week, but i am not to hold them to that because things could change. I was also told not to bring up home around Allie because it tends to scare the babies. So i decided we are going shopping (home) i figured heck she is a girl and will love shopping so why not tell her we are doing that. Also today they are going to start turning her flow down on her oxygen. Hopefully soon we will be on a flow of 2. Allie also is becoming more aware of her surroundings. She is awake more now and also know when she is hungry. What ever she can find to suck on she does, it's the cutiest thing!

BOTTLES
Allie started bottles last week, and let me tell you just to get them to let her try them was a pain in the butt. They told me first she was too little to take a bottle. Then they told me she was breathing too fast. Then it was her flow was too high. Finally they just tried it. The first 2 days was just putting 2cc's in a nipple and seeing what she would do with it. Then when she flew past that trial they decided to give her half her feeds in a bottle once a day which is 10cc's. The first actual bottle she had made it look like she had been throwing them back in the womb. She is a pro at it, and loves taking them. So now we are trying to up it to either 2 bottles a day with 10cc's or one bottle with her whole feed which is 23cc's. They said it isn't her that needs to mave slow it's her gut! Plus they have to get her flow down a little to give her full feeds by bottle! i am so proud of how she is doing. I just sometimes wish i could press fast foward because i believe she would do awesome with it and they just wont give her a chance. I guess that why i am not the doctor.
NICU Life
So the past 2 months has been the biggest and wildest roller coaster i have ever been on. I have cried, laughed, and been so mad i couldn't see straight. Even though this is hard it has been the best 2 months ever. I get to sit here with my baby all day and watch her grow and impove. That is the biggest way to know how blessed you are. I will tell you no matter how much you hear and see what goes on unless you live it you will NEVER know how difficult but good this is. I miss my husband i miss my friends, heck i even miss paducah and paducah is not much to miss. It's so easy to sit here and try to wonder why, but then I think it could be worse, Allie could of died. So i try not to ask that question, i know it was for a reason and one day i will find out. Until then I will sit here every day and be with Allie and be a MOM. Which might i add it's the best thing in the world :) and as I sit here and watch her grow and get closer to the door i will keep everyone updated. Just bare with me because i don't know how to run this thing...lolo

The night Allie was born
So they tell us she has to be taken ASAP, and when i say ASAP i mean it. with in the hour i was shaved, and going back to pre c-section room to talk to anethesia and to have an echo done O.R. and then they decided to give me a internal jugular, which is the HUGE thing put in my neck, not fun at all then they put me to sleep! Next thing i know i was awake and asking bout my Allie! they told me stuff but i can't remember from all the drugs...lol I didnt get to see her until the next day and i don't remember much of the night she was born! The first time i saw her was the best thing in the world. Even though i was scared and she was so little! she was 1 pound 3 ounces and 12 1/2 inches long. The best but by far the most terrifing night of my whole life!

leading up to allie's birth
we dont know if sny of this caused allie to be born, but on July 7, 2010 jordan and i were involved in a wreck. I didnt think anything was done to me, because actually they hit the trailor behind our truck. but later that night i started having pains. so we went to the hospital and found out that i was having contractions lasting 30 seconds and were every 2 to 3 minutes. So they gave me morphine and a muscele relaxer to stop the contrations, and sent me home the next morning! Then July 17,2010 i started having contractions again. i thought they weren't big ones but we went to the hospital anyways. The nurse happened to have the monitor on in the wrong spot and tried to tell me i wasn't contracting. i asked her to move it and when she did it all began! i went from my cervix being hard and closed to it being soft and dimpled. my contrations were every 1 to 2 minutes and lasting 1minute. So again they did morphine and muscele relaxer and then they also gave me the steriods to help her lungs! I stayed in the hospital all weekend on strict bedrest and went home on Sunday on strict bedrest! On the 24 of July i yet again started having contractions. But this time when i got there the doctor was already there. He said he was sending me straight to Louisville to Dr.P so that they could manage me. so on I got on to the helicopter and flew to Louisville. then they couldn't keep up with Allie's heartbeat. they then found out that she was in the 3rd %tile of growth and needed to be taken ASAP!!!
